Child & Family Support

Baby Welcoming Bags

This distribution program initiated in 2004 provides essential infant supplies to all new mothers at the free clinic.  A volunteer team delivers over 40 bags monthly to the families within hours of the birth.  There are separate bags for boys and girls and contain items such as diapers, blankets, clothing, thermometer, bibs, etc.

Children's Homes

The Casa Esperanza Children’s Home located in Puerto Peñasco and Hermosillo plus the Albergue Infantil AMOR are supported by the Foundation through underwriting of both facilities’ monthly utility costs as well as clothing, blankets, toys and gift donations.

One of the Foundation’s efforts was to supply winter clothing, blankets, shoes, and sports equipment for the approximately 20 children housed in this facility.

Ana Maria Gomez Espinoza is the new director of this facility as of 2006.

Three of the 13 children being cared for in February 2006.

Both of these programs care for children from dysfunctional environments and are returned to their families when the home problems are resolved.  They are not available for adoption.
